Default turtlewax black box detail.....

Us black car owners now have an over the counter saving grace....

i have been using this wax/precleaner/detail spray on the car for the
couple weeks. and really only have 3 coats of wax and precleaned it once (the first time).

This stuff is fantastic. both the precleaner and wax are actually black tinted as well as the detail spray. IT has virtually removed all of my swirls and any remnants of water spots (and i didnt even have to use a buffer)

it rained all last night and some on friday. got to see the rain bead up and run right off the car.

Im usually a fan of NXT. (still am and will use on occasion) BUT all i can say is wow.... night and day difference.

best part is.... its only 20 bucks at advance/autozone. you get:

1 bottle precleaner
1 bottle wax
2 bottles of detail spray
2 wax applicator pads

here are the pics as promised, i just boxed her again today. here are before pics after about 3 days ( on and off) of rain and not cleaning the car at all....

here is what the wax looks like.... keep in mind the pre-cleaner looks the same. however i did NOT use the pre-cleaner today. I used ICE to wipe the car down before waxing. i did not actually WASH the car.

Here is the hood after wax, but no detail spray afterwards. (i did use the detail spray after the wax job was complete.)

The door after wipedown/wax/detail spray

The same 1/4 panel as in pic number 4 above.

and finally.....atop the parking garage at 630pm

Not to rain on your parade, as your car looks good, but I work part time at a local Advance Auto Parts store, and a couple of the young guys that work there have black cars. They've both tried the "Black Box", and neither were all that happy with the results.

I've had black cars since the early 70s, and have tried most everything. For clarity and depth of shine, I like either Zaino or more recently, Surf City Garage's "Nano Shine and Seal".

apparently they were doing something wrong. young guys that dont know how to detail properly always bitch about the over the counter products. mainly because they were never properly taught how to detail a car. im sure it streaked a lot on them.... which means after they used the detail spray they wiped it with one cloth but didnt go back over it with a dry cloth. they kept using the same wet cloth they used to initially wipe the detailer with (which is damp and will streak)

ive used em all, zaino, adams, nano.... all of which are fantastic. but this post is not for the high end products. this post is meant to inform of the over the counter products for people that cant always afford the above mentioned.

ive been detailing cars since i was 16 (11 years). the two best over the counter wax's/polishes that i have had the opportunity to use have been NXT and now black box.
