ls1 track car problems help

i have a 98 camaro i bought awhile back and this past summer i busted the rearend which broke the transmission which messed up the torque converter. i replaced all the broken parts with good brand name parts but my car still wont go it will start up idle good but when i put it in drive it jumps real hard and goes dead. if i start out on grass i can spin it just a little to get it rolling and i can drive it but if i stop it will go dead again. i had a couple of people tell me its my computer telling my converter to stay locked up could that be right? thanks dicky

Ditto. Sounds like a converter problem. Go ask on LS1tech; someone there will know.
