Default Friend having trouble with his Firebird

Sorry if this isnt in the right section but I hope you guys can help.my friend has a late 90s firebird.when he accelerates, Sometimes it doesn't go past 30 mph and he hears a grinding noise coming from the engine.Anyone know whats up?

TRANS.....OR SOLENOID ,,i had same prob with my 96 z28 i put a trans in first then later found out it was $100 solenoid

There are a couple of specialist F Body Forums out there. You'll get much more response there. My son has a Camaro and he's a member of Team Camaro. I'm sure there must be an equivalent Forum for the Firebird.
