Default For Sale: 1996 Z-28

Selling my black 1996 Z-28 with T-Tops as it's time to get out of the car scene. Here's what it has....

Drivetrain:
Rebuilt 6 speed transmission with Z06 gears with 500 miles
Rebuilt motor with 0 miles since rebuild. Motor had 60K miles at time of rebuild.
Comp Cams CC 503 cam (224/230), PAC 1518 springs, Crane Gold 1.6 RRs along with new seats, lifters, chromemoly pushrods. Whole vavletrain is brand new.
While motor was out had all new gaskets/seals installed
Computer tuned by MadZ28
Pacesetter coated LT headers and Off Road Y pipe
Magna Flow cat back
Moroso Cold air intake
New OptiSpark
Pro 5.0 Shifter
Carbon fiber shift forks

Suspension
Autometer 6 point Roll bar
C5 Corvette wheels/ nitto 555 17"/18" tires
Double Adjustable PHB
Strano Springs
Strano 35mm front sway bar
Strano 22mm rear sway bar
Koni single adjustable shocks
Complete LS1 front brake conversion
Hawk HP+ pads front and rear
ATE brake fluid

I'm sure there's a few things I forgot. I'll add those items and pics soon.

Selling for $6400 and I"m located in Albany NY.

I ran this car at Watkins Glen, on the old motor, in June and reached 130mph on the back straight....the same speed I was hitting in my '01 Z-06 last year. That tells you how good this car is set up suspension wise. With the extra HP with the new rebuild, it'll be even faster!

Sounds hella underpriced. The suspension/engine along could probably get you 8k if you parted it out.

I disagree. Mods don't necessarily add their 'new cost' value to a car. $6400 for an LT1 f-body is pretty high compared to the rest of the market. This car might very well be worth it, but $8K for an LT1 is really high.

The suspension is simply Konis with Strano bars, springs, and a panhard bar. He even has stock lower control arms front and rear. Not saying this isn't a good setup (works quite well, actually), but we aren't talking anything special or exotic.

Sounds like a nice car, good luck with the sale.

Definitely not but the Camaro/Firebird market has been insane since they stopped production. Check out camaroz28.com used section theres a car similar to this originally had over 100k but now has a rebuilt motor (that has an oil blowby issue) and a few suspension parts asking just under 10k for it. Lots of a stock Camaro/Firebird LT1's in the 90-100k+ range asking 5-7k for them as is and this has a well matched suspension setup and a clean motor. I'd probably ask a little higher and leave some wiggle room rather then starting low.

The keyword is asking. If you watch ebay and other online ads, these 4th Gen F-bodies are often asking $6000 - $10,000 and being relisted over and over.

Now some are junk, but not all are.

The wild prices are the lower mile cars, 25,000 to 50,000 miles, that are looking for $15,000 to $25,000. They just keep getting relisted.

I have no idea about this car, but offhand I'd say is is a lot more likely to sell than most. And not be that far off from his asking price.

Car sold this morning for pretty close to the asking price. Guy who bought lives half an hour from Watkins Glen. He's going to have a lot of fun next year!
