A wish is probably about as close as you'll get unless the Camaro is success well BEYOND the General's expectations.
Over the years RARELY did Firebird sales vs the Camaro get high enough to make a strong case that the company ever really needed both cars.
The sales numbers Ford gets from the Mustang seems like a lofty goal that GM would be VERY HAPPY to match..........why hasn't Ford seen a market for a return of their own more luxury oriented Pony car?
Where is the Mercury "Cougar"?
With the return of the Challenger but no Barracuda from Chrysler.............
Seems like all 3 of the American auto manufactures are treading LIGHTLY into this "retro" theme.........
.......and that seems smart too.
As many "misses" as "hits".......so far in previous efforts.
Sooooooo.........I don't know about you but I'm not holding my breath on a new Firebird anytime soon..........or ever for that matter.
