I agree with the others that the price should be closer to the 13-14k range.
There are some common issues:
- The 16" chrome plated wheels have peeling problems.
- The leather front seat bolsters wear very badly, cloth does not wear.
- Chevy is covering catalytic converters beyond 100k miles on LS1 Camaro's, they sent me a letter last year. I had one replaced so far.
- Roof adhesion is a problem on '98 and newer cars. The adhesive gasses through the SMC roof and paint causing bubbles and streaks where the adhesive was applied. I haven't researched it yet (as mine has the problem), but it may take zone approval to repair under warranty. It is about a $1500 repair. Do a search on some of the F body forums for roof bubbles.
- Oil consumpsion on LS1's. If I keep my foot out of it, no problem.
I have an '02 that I purchased new and has 91k miles now. I love the car but I am planning to sell soon. I get 24-25 mpg regularly on my city commute. My '97 started needing major repairs at 100k, steering rack, tie rod, evaporator, intake gaskets.
