Default Suspension Upgrade for my '69...?

Ok, I plan on doing a major suspension/brake/wheel & tire upgrade for my 1st gen come spring and I have no idea where to start. I don't really like the wheels that came on the car when I bought it, but when I do a big brake kit I will probably have to go with larger rims anyway. The suspension is what really has me stumped...

Half the people I talk to say go with an air ride type set up, the other say go with a sprung suspension. Can anyone here give me some input on pros and cons of each type, or direct me to a place where I can get the down low on all the 1st gen upgrade options...?

Thanks.

I'd look into the parts line developed by "Detroit Speed". That operation is dedicated to F-Body suspension, and operated by former GM suspension engineers.

I didn't want to get too far away from "stock".So I put Moser 28 spline axles in,4:10 Richmond gears with an Eaton posi differential.I chose Eaton because they are rebuildable.(I went with 4:10's because I put in a built 700 R-4 transmission).I still have the mono-leaf suspension, but I installed Cal-Trac traction bars which are pretty much bullet-proof.(even on the drag strip) I have 17x7 on front with 245/45 tires and 17x9.5 with 275/40 on back. I plan on upgrading on brakes someday,so I should have the clearance for big brakes.

How much are you wanting to spend? Are you looking to stay "stock" or go for the pro-touring look or....?
