Default Need help diagnosing Brothers 94z

Hi everyone. I have a 93 c4 but I'm looking for help with my brothers 94 z-28. I don't want to re-type everything I posted on the f-body forum so here's the link.

ANy input would be appreciated.

catalytic convertor! If you dont have emissions.. make it hollow! If not magnaflow..

When it heats up the metals expand.. clogging the exhaust.. hence the loss and power and the back fire.. like a bannana in a tail pipe

Thanks for the input. The cats and whole exhaust system was removed from my brothers wrecked 97 ss camaro. The ss had 97 km on it when we swapped it over. The 94 z however is a high mileage one, about 250k on it now or so. The only problem is, yesterday when i tried changing the coil I fired her up in the cold, and the problem started happening within 30 seconds, then it settled down and later shut down on me 25 mins later not to start again for 15 mins.

Code 42 and 16 is what im getting.
