Wanted to get the collective experience of the hive. I know it is a real PITA to remove the pulley from an ATI 600b. I tried to do it years ago and bent all my gear pullers so I gave up.

But now I will be ordering a new set of pulleys from BlowerWorks so I better be able to get-r-done.

How did you guys successfully get it off? I don't have a torch, just propane and heat gun. I have an air impact wrench, but I don't think I could get it in there.

Any tips to make sure I do not ruin the seals would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance :D

Anyone every consider a chain drive setup for blowers?

There seems to be a good amount of issues with traditional belts and cog driven applications.... why not use something like a timing belt chain, motor cycle chain, or similar to run the blower off the crank? this would also offer some serious pulley width benefits.... am i crazy? Totally ridiculous idea? Plausable?

Supercharger is SOLD!

88 Corvette $3600 for everything that's left. Possible trade.
I have some interest in the everything so for now I'm going to hold off on parting out the car.

The car is basically complete for now. I will start taking offers on the parts soon so come and get it while it's still complete.
straight body, used interior
balanced motor
upgraded fuel injectors
'90 ZF 6 speed transmission - updated from stock '88 4+3
Dana 44 rear end
Z52 suspension handling package.
polished intake
Pro Charger super charger installed - two pulleys included. one 6#, one 12#
additional full set of stock injectors ($1200 new)
This car is worth way more than the asking price just for the parts listed above. buy the whole thing and you get the body, interior, suspension and tires/wheels for free
comes with five wheels and tires plus the mini spare but they do not match.
To be fair, the car does have issues and needs work. It does run but it runs very rich. It seems that some of the stuff that would control the gas mixture etc is not connected or working right. I don't know much about the electrical connections, the computer stuff etc. I do know that there is stuff that is not connected and not correct. I would NOT drive it any distance without some work on it first. Also it does not look as good as it does in the pictures. The body is straight except for one broken fin on the drivers side It needs paint and the interior is well used.
The steering column needs work.

I see some companies sell 'blower cams'. They do not publish the cam specs.

Ive heard they are a generally a smallish cam with some more exhaust duration - kind of like the hotcam (218 int., 228 exh @ .050 lift; 112 LSA, .525" lift int/exh with 1.6:1 roller rockers).

What makes these 'blower cams' so special?

Were there significant performance gains? Was it worthwhile, worth the money? I ask this because my '85 engine is stock and I like the idea of the supercharger.

Greg Carroll got me setup with an ostrich, tunerproRT and a great base tune. I did have success tuning WOT fuel ratios on the dyno w/ wideband (by using first the % enrichment vs. coolant temp table, and then the %enrichment vs. RPM table). My S/C is an intercooled (procharger intercooler) P600B making 8 psi boost. Im running about 12.0 to 12.3:1 AFR at WOT.

Im still wondering what I should do for spark advance...Everyone knows that the time honored spark advance for chevy v8 (naturally aspirated) is 36 degrees at WOT. Obviously it needs to be lower under boost.

What should I be running under boost? Some people have told me no more than 20 degrees. However that seems too wimpy.

Im running 30 degrees (at WOT) until 4500 RPM, where it goes to 28 and then at 5000 RPM, it goes to 26 degrees. Im having good luck with this. Im not sensing knock retard, but I need some better resolution scanning software before I am 100% certain that no knocking occurs -at any point under any full throttle runs.

Im still running stock computer, so Im limited to 100 kPA being 'full boost' condition.

I know a lot of people act like supercharging a stock bottom end and compression LT1 is a bomb ready to go off. Thats fine, gives me excuse for a forged, lower compression, higher boost rebuild!

Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys,

I haven't seen anyone do this yet, but I have a Vortech V1-T trim that is a counter-clockwise unit. The FBody requires a clockwise head unit to make it the Fbody kit work (lower right side of engine):

What I want to do is basically use the C4 LT1 bracket to bolt the V1 up to my LT1 Camaro. I'm going to relocate the alternator down low and delete the A/C. I got such a great deal on this head unit that I really want to play around and make it work.

The kit has been discontinued by Vortech, but I somehow need to find the bracket that bolts it onto the engine:

Any tips? I'm not sure if the dimensions will work, but I want to get my hands on a bracket to find out, or maybe someone with the kit can lend a helping measurement or two!

Thanks guys :)

Anyone have any pics of this type of supercharger on a C4? Im sure there is something available that fits under the stock hood.

Im thinking this is the route I will take with our vette next year after the paint is done. I want to eliminate the TPI anyway, and all said and done with other engine mods I want about 450 pump gas daily driveable horsepower which should be easy to do with this style blower. Plus i love the absolutely instant throttle response you get with this style setup.

Thanks! :lurk:
