Ok so I did some searching but didn't find much. I have a 95 Firebird Formula that has had a tune done by previous owner. Previous owner also said he could tell a decent improvement in before & after performance wise.

I also have a 95 bone stock Corvette. Both are A4, K&N, Magnaflow, stock long block equipped. Only difference is the Fbody has LT headers. I am wondering if I can upload the tune from the Fbody to the Ybody ECM with no side effects?

Has anyone else done this or know someone who has? Thanks in advance.

I am tuning my newly supercharged 93 corvette. I am using tunerpro, and the proper definition file,...

I am tuning my newly supercharged 93 corvette. I am using tunerpro, and the proper definition file, to tweak my WOT air/fuel ratios.

Anyways, I want to get a wideband O2 sensor to monitor A/F ratios in real-time while driving.

I plan on just welding in another bung for it behind my existing narrowband O2 sensors - which will still be used by the stock ECU for part-throttle trims.

My questions are:

1. Does any manufacturer make a better gauge than the other?

2. Is it worth the expense to get a guage with 'playback capability' or is eyeballing it during WOT runs usually good enough?

3. I see kits with Bosch 4.2 and a Bosch 4.9 wideband exhaust sensor. The only difference I can ascertain is that the Bosch 4.9 measures 10 to 20:1 AFR vs. 11 to 16:1 AFR.

4. Are wideband O2 sensors 'heated'?

5. Where should I weld the bung in at on my exhaust system? Does it need to be close to the header collector where it is real hot, or can it be downstream farther?

6. Whats better, a digital wideband gage or analog one?

7. Which bank should I monitor, left (Drivers side) or right bank? Note: its not clear whether an LT1 exhaust has significant cross-over.
Its rather just a 'true-dual' type setup. (Im leaning towards monitoring the driver's side bank since thats the bank that is at most risk of leaning out due to 2 adjacent cylinders firing one right after the other.)

The gauge Im looking at, due to cost and function, is made by AEMpower. I like the combination of digital and analog readout. The red readout goes best with 'orange' backlights on my 93 and the combination of analog and digital make it real clear if Im leaning out.

Its below:
http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=73

I am some error code issues. The main one is code 43 (Low voltage at electronic spark timing circuit). I replaced the module in the distributor, but I still get the code 43.

I also get an occasional code 54 (Low voltage at fuel pump OR Low voltage at Fuel pump relay OR Output failure at quad driver module). This error code comes and goes.
The car is a 1985 vette with a 1990 f-body (7730) ecm and a custom chip.
I need some direction as to possible fixes for this.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Tuner in Central Florida to burn a ECM chip?

Need to see if someone can point me to someone on this part of the forum.

I had someone make up a chip for my 90 many years ago after I installed a super charger. I don't remember who did it, but it seems to run ok. I know it would be better to have one built custom on a dyno but I don't know anyone here in Central Florida that does that.

Another forum member posted a possible solution to a cruise control issue I am having. Requires a EPROM burn, and I don't know of anyone local that can help me with that, or if this really applies to a 90.

I remember that (daughter board) chip was pretty pricey. Anyone have any recommendation who to deal with to get this changed?

Here is what another forum member helped him with a similar problem, although an LT1 not an L98 like mine.

It's what turns off the injectors when you are coasting.

I just checked the tunercat list of parameters for your car, and it is in there, so any tuner would be able to disable it. Alternatively, you could get tunercats and tune it yourself, in which case you might be able to adjust the parameters to make them coexist.

I discovered the solution when I started trying to tune DFCO to improve mpg. The stock LT1 DFCO is very poorly calibrated and people have made significant improvements in mpg by fiddling with it. Once I realized that the interaction between DFCO and CC was the cause of the herky-jerky CC, I turned it off, and have seen no noticeable change in mpg, which supports the claim that the stock DFCO is pretty worthless.

Again, no idea how much of this will apply to your car...

p.s. it would be helpful for the next person searching on this topic if you ask a moderator to move the thread into either scan/tune or tech/perf.

Hi guys! Still thinking there is more to squeeze out of the car to put me up there with the stock C6s. It is not a daily driver, but I do not want to lose drivability either.

Current mods:
LT headers
Hot cam
Tune
Electricwater pump
High flow cats
Corsa exhaust

Heads and intake have not been touched other than valve guides installed and new springs.

I do NOT want to add nitrous or change the rear rear from the stock 3.45

Current HP is 341 rear wheel horsepower or just over 400 the GM way using 15% loss.

Ideas?

I have a 93 corvette with about 155,00 miles on it. I have replaced the spark plugs, wires within the last year or so, and optispark last week. Some days the car runs perfect and every other day when driving she feels like she is running on 6 cyclinders with no power. I am not getting a service engine soon light. Could it be something else that is electrical and is so wouldn't it be running bad all the time. On days she is running good, I run it for about 30 min and give the car time to get to normal temps, so the O2 sensor should be working okay. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I want to get a used memcal to place a new chip on it to program and leave my current one in stock condition. The question, will a 92-93 memcal work that is from a firebird, camaro manual or automatic LT1, since I would be taking the eprom off and putting a new socket and replaceable chip on work to program. I guess the other portion of the socket contains the knock sensor information, so is that portion of the socket the same for use with the various broadcast code memcal codes??

I have a 1995 corvette, Auto, 90,000 miles. I have replaced water pump, opti, plugs, wires, etc. The car has been running great all summer long. I had the car out and it just stopped running on the Highway. I pulled several codes which were 16, 21, 22, 23. I did replace the ICM, TPS, ITS, and cleared codes and took the car out and just stopped running. I did keep popping the code for the Throttle Sensor so I put the old one back in and have taken it on short rides and the codes are gone. Is there anything I should look into before taking this on a trip longer than my city???
