I have a 69 el camino with a 396 matched to an M-22 (yes a real M22) with a 12 bolt posi. My M-22 takes the large driveshaft yoke. I want to put a 700r4 in place of the M22. Im tired of shifting. Anyone know what I will have to change on the driveshaft to make this work? I want an overdrive tranny because I have 4:11 gears. Thanks for your input.

I have also thought about putting an LS1 in it. Opionons on that?

Rims MUST BE nice and like the style pictured. I do NOT want chrome wheels!!!! I am looking for a set with the stock silver finish.

I would also be interested in a set of 16x8 ZR1 replica rims as long as they are not chrome ones. But please if they ARE NOT 16x8 don't respond, I don't have the time to have my ecm calibrated for tire size changes.

If you even know of a very nice set for sale let me know!

Hey guys, we just wanted to share some pics of the now infamous 1200hp Camaro that was on the SEMA Show Floor (Central Hall) sporting our wheels.

We actually got the call from one of our Authorized Dealers, LATE MODEL RACECRAFT, with the opportunity to get in on this major vehicle. We decided the Brushed Aluminum VS1 would be a perfect, purposeful compliment to the powerful Camaro. The whole "murdered out" thing is cool, but we wanted to go the clean and classic look.

The car has a 427ci motor, Procharger F1-R Supercharger, and custom LMR Fuel system. It made 827rwhp with no tune. When I took a ride in it after the SEMA show it was pushing 20psi and over 1000rwhp. Silly power......simply silly.

Here are some pics of our contribution to the words fastest 2010 Camaro
more importantly the V6 model?
I personaly think its a waste of money!
I mean your almost there get the SS if your going to do it
besides the fact the 6 cyl model will dimenish in value
the prices people pay for these they could have bought a mint C5 Z06 and some cash or a pristine low mile

Stock I think it came with 235/55/16 tires which seem to be an oddball size and not a great...

Stock I think it came with 235/55/16 tires which seem to be an oddball size and not a great selection to chose from. My wheels are the star looking chrome ones which look just like a Z-28 wheel will the larger Z-28 tires fit my rim or did the Z-28 use a wider rim?

I believe the wheel to be a 16x8 but I am not sure. I am also open to tire & wheel packages like ZR-1 style for the car but unsure of the correct offsets to use.

Being this car is of the obd2 will tire size changes affect the transmission shifting or could I mount say 245/50/16 tires on and the ecm would not notice? I can't imagine a 5mm difference in sidewall height would mess the speedometer up to much.

Anyone who has done ZR-1 rim swaps on a 4th gen f-body chime in. One reason I am opting for rim replacement is that it is believed the chrome is damaged on my inner wheel bead area and this is causing my tires to lose pressure all the time.

I want to get a new shifter and knob for my mother's 2002 Z28 (M6).

She drove my 2005 Vette (stock shifter and knob) and marveled at its precision and comfort compared to her Camaro. In fact, after driving my car she confessed that she can't drive her car for too long without the big round ball hurting her hand.

I think the knob is more significant to her than the shifter, but she deserves more from her son than a bit of plastic and leather.

Lots of options out there, but I don't want to pick something too high-effort. What do you folks suggest?
Sorry it took so long...I know it's been a topic of much debate here lately.

Here's my dyno results. I have the beta-test unit...Vararam "race" intake (requires a tune). Tuning was done by Chuck CoW. (Corvette's of Westchester in Ossining NY).

Both dyno runs were done last night on a Dynojet.

Baseline was done first...totally stock. Made 360hp/352tq.

We than swapped in the tune and the Vararam intake, and ran it again...some nice gains...peak 392hp/398tq. The highest gains (most impressively) were at 4200rpm....+46hp/+57tq

Here's 2 graphs...the second one has the #'s at 4200rpm's highlighted. Keep in mind this is still a test unit!

Great results! Like Mike said, all runs were last night within the same hour, No road test between intake and tune swaps. Right there on the rollers.

The bigger results are from our extensive street tune of the NEW VR RACE UNIT...To my surprise, the mid and top end of the RPM scale required almost no adjustment from the street tune, while (as we suspected...) the 3,500 and down area was a bit rich because the car was not actually moving and we didn't allow any time for the fuel trims to correct the calibration after the intake swap.

Had we taken the car off the dyno, and driven it for 20 mins, the trims would have kicked in with some correction and the low end HP and Torque would have improved nicely.

Regardless, the results were exactly what we were hoping for and I think that this unit is gonna find itself at the top of the COLD AIR INTAKE FOOD CHAIN just as the way VARARAM products dominate the Corvette world.

So far as I'm aware, the production unit is just around the corner and will absolutely be worth the wait!

What's gonna be different between last night's VARARAM results and the results you would see between the My street tune and the dyno????

Well, as I said earlier, the low speed TORQUE and HP should come up sharply after the car is street driven and the fuel trims get caught up cause the AFR on the low end was far richer than my logs of the street tune were. Another point to realize: While we're totally pleased with the WOT results from the dyno, you need to realize that this intake system is AN AIRFLOW MONSTER which gobbles up air the faster you go!

What that means is that your "REAL WORLD" results with MY tune and this intake system should improve on the top end when the vehicle is tuned at SPEED on the street.

STAY TUNED! for next weeks dyno results of Mike's ongoing progress with the addition of a set of AMERICAN RACING 1 7/8 LONG TUBE HEADERS and a CAT BACK system!

...AND BACK TO THE DYNO!!!
