I have a 2002 Z06 racer built up to 702 HP and would like some advice on optimum fuel air ratio. I have installed a gauge and am getting about 13-14 when the car is warmed up and 16 or 17 when I get on it a bit.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is my first Corvette and I do not want to damage the engine.

Thanks,
Gonna replace valve seals also, what special tools will I need to put the new ones on?

I am in the market for new tires. My 2001 Z has the original supers & I bought Bridgestones Potenza RE760 sports in the same size as the o.e. & noticed right away that after a 50 miles cruise, the steering response felt very loose. I hate the way the car responds in a quick lane change. With the o.e. supers, I could handle a off-ramp at about 80-85 mph. When I tried to do the same with the new tires, the car could not hold as well. Miles on my Z & o.e.'s is 19,000. I am not knowlegeble with cars, I love CORVETTES & love driving them. Any HELP?

Hey guys,

I have been looking to go 10's NA. I ran 7.82 at 90-91mph with a 1.85 60ft with a positive 2000ft DA last year bone stock and drag radials.

With LT's and CAI and EG tune, I went 7.66 at 96mph with a DA around 900ft. I did go 12.02 at 116+ the next night with a 500ft DA, give or take on the DA, but the car was wheel hopping so hard through 50mph.

The next week, I took my car to a good track, my home track, HRP. Track prep was great, and I broke the rear on the first pass. DA was a negative 500ft and I was hoping for 11.70's.

On Monday afternoon, I am putting my car in the shop for the RPM stage 2 rear end with 3.90 gears. I am dumping the 18 inch drag radials, and need input on a setup to go 10's.

I have posted about getting Weld wheels on the car in a few threads, with no responses. I will not buy the CCW wheels, and I have seen welds on a c5, I just need to to know how to get ET streets on the back of a c5 with a 16 inch weld wheel.

Also, I am set on the England Green Mayhem II cam, most likely in mid Jan of 2010, I will probably have the stock ls6 heads cleaned up and lightly ported by my local machine shop, that has ported my heads for years.

I am guessing that the this should get my car around 11.30's at 120-123mph with the new gear, cam, and 16 inch ET street.

Yes, this is bench racing, but what should I do to get my car to into the 10's.

What 60ft, and trap speed is good for 10's with proper driving and a 0-1000ftDA?

I am guessing a mid/high 1.5 and 123-125mph should do it? Thanks for the help. Also, if you know how to get Weld Draglites or Prostars on a c5, I would appreciate it.

As most of you have seen and heard, HRE has released their new 560 Series. These wheels are designed to target the car enthusiast who wants an extremely high quality three piece forged wheel, but doesn’t have the means to step into a 790R, 890R, or 590R Series.

Here are some of the key attributes of the 560C/R Series:

· Hidden hardware three piece construction.

· 6061 T6 Forged Aluminum.

· 18” – 20” sizes available immediately. 21” and 22” coming soon.

· Choice of lip styles. Stepped Comp lip in 19” and 20”. Reverse flat lip in 18” – 20”.

· RETAIL PRICE FOR A SET OF FOUR $4400 - $5200 for 18” – 20”.

· Custom finishes available.

· Unsurpassed quality from a TUV Verified company.

· Clean, precisely engineered designs that are setting the standard for wheels in this price range.

We all know there are many other wheel brands available in this price range. HRE challenges them to produce a better quality, custom built, forged wheel than what we know we can deliver.

Please do not hesitate to call me directly to discuss the new 560 Series in greater detail.
I am getting ready to start maintaining two sets of brakes, meaning disc and pads for track days and the OEM set for the street. I was wondering if changing the hoses was also beneficial.

I have a squeel noise (sounds like fan belt) when I pull out. It started infrequently a few months ago but now is much more frequent, although not every time I pull out. Only last a half second or so and is definetly not coming from belts. I don't know the history on the original clutch but think its been replaced with a performance clutch per a corvette mechanic that has driven the car. More leg pressure than normal needed to depress it per the mechanic. The car is engine modified and has been raced/dragged. Mileage 21K. Any insights as to what is making the noise?
