You may think I am crazy but I just booked my room for Corvettes at Carlisle in Carlisle PA. for 2010. Where I stayed last year was $100.00 per night and the rooms were dirty and stunk (I had a NO SMOKING ROOM) of smoke and even had an ash tray in the room. I checked with the Best Western and the wanted $89.99 for the first night and $189.99 for the next 3 nights. I don't think so. So I found a place that was a Holiday Inn in the past but is a Motel 6 now (NEW) and the rates are very good, first 2 nights at$45.99 per night and the last 2 nights ay $95.95 per night. That is do able. So you all who are planning on doing Corvettes at Carlisle may want to check on your room for this next year. Here is the number of the New Motel 6 that was a Holiday Inn.
Number is 717-245-2400 Good luck :cheers:

Women's Thoughts on
MEN!!!!
One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt ..
Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room,
He shouted to me, 'What setting do I use on the
washing machine?'
'It depends,' I replied.
'What does it say on your shirt?'
He yelled back, 'OHIO STATE !'
And they say
Blondes are dumb....
----------------------------------------------------------------
A couple is lying
In bed. The man says,
'I am going to make
You the happiest woman in the world...'
The woman replies,
'I'll miss you.......
----------------------------
'It's just too hot to wear clothes today,'
Jack says as he stepped out of the shower, 'honey, what do you think the
Neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?'
'Probably that I married you for your money,' she replied.
-------------------------------------------
Q: What do you
Call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man?
A: A rumor
-------------------------------------------
Dear Lord,
I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods.
Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death.
AMEN
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Why do little boys whine?
A: They are practicing to be
Men.
--------------------------------------------------
Q: What do you
Call a handcuffed man?
A: Trustworthy..
---------------------------------------------
Q: What does it
mean when a man is in your bed gasping
for breath and calling your name?
A: You did not hold the pillow down long enough.
------------------------------------------
Q: Why do men whistle when they
are sitting on the toilet?
A: It helps them remember which end to wipe..
-------------------------------------------
Q: How do you
Keep your husband from reading your e-mail?
A: Rename the
Email folder 'Instruction Manuals'

Hi,

As some of you may know, I am embarking on a trip next summer to visit all 48 states and in the process, meet owners of corvettes for more than 30 years give or take a few years.

Here is the challenge. As I put more and more pins on my map with people and cars to see, I keep saying to members " I can do that " I will be there " well. How do it I do it?

Can some one out there who is good at logistics and planning, put a simple point to point route that will take me to every state, ( I don't need roads yet , just general lines ) that will efficiently get me from Maine , across the northern haft of country (mid west) , to the Northwest, then West Coast, South West- Southern haft of country (mid south) South, South East, Mid- Atlantic and back to New England.

This route would allow me to make all the side trips to make stops. I plan to use blue highways more then interstates if possible. 2 to 3 months depending on number of visits and time spent. Me , car, tent, laptop, golf clubs, cushion for my rear end.

I would really appreciate the help.

Jack

I'm in the process of replacing valve springs, pushrods, rockers, on my stock 291 heads. These are on a 68,327-350. I bought sealed power springs, with two choices on springs, VS677, or optional VS739R H/D. I bought the H/D and they fit the spring pockets perfect. The ones I took out didn't fit the pockets as well, since they are softer spring, smaller diameter wire. So,obviously I am using stiffer springs. The H/D springs have 34lbs more closed pressure, 83lbs more open pressure, and .04 less open height then the non H/D springs. Both have the same free height and closed height. Think i'm good to go?

Hey folks,

When I took my seats out to fix some fiberglass issues there was a tag attached to one of the seats with a company name "Leggett and Platt".

I seen them on the Internet and they do some automobile seat suspension work but I doubt they do restoration work.

Does anyone know how the company is involved in the Corvette market? Could this be an original tag or something from a previous restoration? I don't have any car history prior to 1996.

Thanks,

i wanted the lightest, most efficient fan set-up for my 61 for use with my new 4.5# radiator.
Existing designs just didn't cut it.
The problem being FANS are round and rad's are NOT round.
Existing solutions are a shroud, maybe with 2 fans. But there is a more efficient way.
For my 61, NO shroud, a 12" fan in the center and 4, 4.75" fans; one in each corner.
Another Matt Gruber exclusive!
Total amp draw only 8.1 amps
Total weight 4.5# for all 5 fans!
Sorry, no pics, secret design only to be seen at shows. But, you get the idea.

Well guys, after over 30 years and lots of starts and stops of attempting to find the time and...

Well guys, after over 30 years and lots of starts and stops of attempting to find the time and money to fix my58 up I think it may be time to face reality that this is not in the cards for me. Looking at the options I can either let it rot under covers until I am dead (and truly be one of the freaks often written about on here) and then burden my kid with either the guilt he sold his fathers dream or worse have him feel like he has to finish it. So while I am still somewhat sane and competent to make a rational decision I am considering selling it. The problem is determining what a fair price for this car is. It is anything but a numbers matching, perfect restoration candidate, but it is far from a bucket of junk in a basket. Many of you have helped me solve problems along the way when I was stuck or unsure how to progress on a task, so I was hoping to get some input on what you think is a fair asking price to sell this for.

It does not have the original motor but it has a strong 283 with polished corvette valve covers, ceramic coated headers, pertronics billet electronic distributor. It has a dewitts radiator fan combo, Polished manifold with polished edelbrock carb polished alternator mounted with Alan grove components. The engine looks great and runs strong. The entire wiring harness is new and in tact without out any butchering what so ever. The rims are early 60s keystone classics in good shape. It has a new windshield with CC repaired pillars, new dashpad and seats that are in perfect condition. It has no carpet or door panels. I have most if not all the exterior chrome and stainless (and multiples of many pieces) in conditions ranging from perfect to needing polishing or re-chroming. The trunk straps are good but have some pitting. I have the hard top with all the stainless but it needs the quarter windows and some love. It has not been on the car in years. The exterior is all together and the doors open/close and latch properly. It is white primmer. So its a good fun nice project. All that said, it still has its issues. The top does not line up and latch properly. It has no weather stripping. The door glass regulators are no good (I eventually planned on putting specialty windows electric regulators in) It has no heater, I have all the windshield wiper parts but they are not installed, No radio, lots of little things are still needed. So what would be fair to both the buyer and me both?
Thanks
