Car was on the Dyno two months ago and put down 400 HP. This truly is the Ultimate Sleeper vehicle. Sounds like an old street rod at WOT , but very respectable at an idle. This is my second MRK8 , and it will not be my last. I just spent $400 on new tires. The exterior is in nice shape for the year , some minor scratches and peeing around the trim. The headlights are not the best , but still very serviceable. Interior looks great , and way ahead of its time. I average 20 MPG on the highway. The best part is that the car only has 60,000 original miles ! I really do enjoy this car , but I am the kind of person who changes cars every few months. I had two C5's and sold them both last year !
PS, had some really great offers last time , but do not want to travel thousands of miles.

2005 Mini Cooper overheating

My 2005 Mini Cooper has been having a battle with overheating since I bought her in February. First...

My 2005 Mini Cooper has been having a battle with overheating since I bought her in February. First time was the serpentine belt breaking and I replaced that and filled her up. Fine for a long while after that. Even drove her 1000 miles to Tennessee and then 1000 miles back. No problems whatsoever. Then the alternator went out a couple of months back. I replaced that.

Shortly after that, it began to overheat. I filled it up. It would be fine for a couple of days, maybe even a week or so and then heat up again. I did an entire coolant flush and refilled it. Worked for about a month I'd say.

Then the two weeks ago, it reared its head again. I replaced the thermostat, thermostat housing and gasket. It worked for a couple of days and then two days ago it started again.

It happens all the time. First time we noticed it after the thermostat change was on the highway around 60 mph. It went up, then came down. Then went back up and stayed up until i pulled into a gas station. Since this ordeal has started, I've learned to carry water. I open the radiator fill cap and steam bursts out. Tons of it. It also blew off the reservoir cap. So it's now a goner (anyone know where I can get one?). So I fill it up and take it home. I get home, I use the bleed valves. Refill it. Works great yesterday morning. Then yesterday afternoon, I'm sitting at the Dairy Queen drive thru and it starts to heat up. I turn it off for maybe 20 seconds. Turn it back on, and it's back at normal temp, runs fine all the way home. Get home, reservoir is between Max and Min. The last few times it overheated, there was water in the reservoir still. I top it up with water, bleed the valves again.

This morning, it overheats while driving, cools at a light. Goes up while moving, cools at a light.

There is also a light scraping/grinding sound for the last few weeks when slowing down and taking off. Maybe the water pump?

God I hope it's the water pump. I can do it myself and it's certainly less expensive than a blown head gasket right?

What do you guys think? Sorry for the extremely long post.

BTW, the fan still works properly.

Asking for a friend who needs a family hauler, primarily for winter.
He has a 2 year old and is looking for a crew cab 4x4.

Ford F250 vs Silverado 2500HD.
Which is the one to get?
budget 10k - 15k.
looking at 2002/2003/2004 model years

not doing any towing. Occasional hauling.
not sure about engine or transmission.
looking at both gas and diesels.
Must be an automatic, 5 speed auto would be preferable

Maintenance cost needs to be low.
Should be very durable and reliable.
MPG > 11 to12mpg overall (city/highway split 20miles each) is fine.
Safety is most importance hence the heavier weight trucks is a choice i guess.

Or should he start looking at Suburbans/Yukons/Expeditions of the same year? He likes the looks of a truck, better range of transmission/engine choices and the additional ground clearance with trucks.

please post your comments and help with experience or advice on what to avoid. like for instance specific models or options that could cost a lot in maintenance.

Fast Cars & Beautiful Women
Exciting Posters & Prints

In general I think there is going to be a real time crunch involved in shipping presents out in time for delivery by Christmas this year. Wholesalers and retailers have less inventory than in years past due to the economy. In addition I've been hearing that some post offices have been shut down (and there have been some layoffs with the private carriers) and this will not help. As we get into December I think shipping is really going to get backed up and nothing is going to get delivered in 3 to 5 days.

For these reasons I am planning ahead in my business so there won't be any disappointments. I will guarantee delivery by Christmas if you order by November 25th (November 20th for International customers). If you order after these deadlines I may still be able to get your posters and prints out to you in time for Christmas (especially if they are in stock), but I'm not going to guarantee it. If you have a question on a specific item please PM me or send me an email at greg@cruiserblvd.com.

If you are ordering a 6-foot banner, an official GM C6 photographic poster, a giclee, or an art print I don't keep in stock there is no way they will get there by Christmas if you don't order by these deadlines (guarantee or no guarantee). Some of my prints come from Canada and they don't drop ship so that means they come to me first and then I ship them out. I also have to order in quantity and there are minimum requirements, so I need additional time for these considerations as well.

The Ford Fusion. Just read about it earlier, apparently they were excited about the many choices you get within the Fusion lineup. I didn't read what the other 15 cars were that they didn't choose but I think there had to be something more impressive. Though it isn't such a surprise considering they feel the Mustang is the best muscle car out there so maybe they found their BMW of America to ride the nuts of from here on out.

Hey guys and gals,

Winter is here (almost) so Black Beauty is hibernating. Now I am trying to make things right with my winter DD.

It's a 96 Chev 1/2 ton 4x4 with a Vortec 350. I just changed the battery out and now it has a crazy fast idle. When I start it, it winds right up to about 2000 rpm and it won't kick down. When it warms up it then winds up to about 2500. I havn't done anyhting to it except swap out the battery. Why is it revving so high? It ran just fine before...

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys/girls it has come to the time i have to sell my supra. my wife and i just had our first...

Hey guys/girls it has come to the time i have to sell my supra. my wife and i just had our first baby boy and i told my wife when he was here i would sell the supra since its just going to sit and not get driven. and i dont feel comfortable putting him in a car seat in the back of it which i would have to do since i'll be the one taking him to his grandma's everyday.almost everything on this car was new when i put it on. so here is all the info on the car.

94 supra 68k miles. original tt 6spd targa top. original color baltic blue. but when i had it painted i painted it my favorite color in the world(96-97) dodge viper blue. the car has no dents or dings and the paint looks great. it has a trd widebody rear end, sideskirts all molded in, all door jambs painted, motor bay painted. it was done right and looks great. i also had them remove the washer squirters, side markers lights front and back, rear wiper. the car is a single turbo and has only been at 18psi a couple times when we were street tuning it. and it was to much power for street driving so it has been set at 15psi ever since then which was when i first had everything installed. they say the car is right around 500rwhp and has lots more in it. the a/c works fine nice and cold. the transmission shifts like it should. i have only driven the car on the hwy a couple times so no high speed runs have been done with it. i drive all city driving. the car has been in a accident before but nothing serious just cosmetic.(no frame damage).i would have no problems taking the car somewhere to have it inspected. i have a carfax ready for anyone who would like to see it. i also have a video of the vehicle just e-mail me and i can send it to you. slammedburban22s@aol.com
i may be interested in trades depends on what it is. please no straight trade civics or evo/sti. lol would come out of pocket if it is something that cost more then the supra.. but would rather sell outright. title in hand. 32,000$

Rented camero ss

We rented a Red Camero SS from Avis over the weekend on a trip to Florida. My thoughts on the car...

We rented a Red Camero SS from Avis over the weekend on a trip to Florida. My thoughts on the car an how it compares to my C6.

The Camero rides very nice, and handles very well. I did like the seats and how they supported me. The power was good, but did not set me back in the seat like my C6 does.

I know the car weights over 4300 lbs. but it is'nt close to my 2008 C6 in power and speed. Some of this might be because of it being a rental, possibly renters return it with regluar gas.
