So last night at 12:30 someone in a Tow truck attempted to steal my girlfriends 97 Toyota supra. I was half way awake when i heard a loud noise only to see a tow truck backed up to my girlfriends car. Luckily ass soon as they tried to open the door the alarm went off and they took off. The police officer that came today said that isn't the first Supra in my neighborhood to get stolen by tow truck. I cant believe it because we live in a nice little neighborhood/community area where i last would have expected it. The must have know it was there. So basically if you live in Kent area watch out for a white tow truck with what looked like the stickers torn off. Well $890 bucks for a back glass so it looks like we will be paying the deductible instead

Take a look at some of these incredible clouds captured over Mt. Rainier yesterday.

Those are called "lenticular clouds" They're caused when the air flow is just right so when it flows over Mt. Rainier , the air gets pushed upward where it cools and condenses into clouds. Depending on how smooth the flow is, you can get some amazing clouds formations as we've seen so far today. Here is more information on what causes them from an earlier blog entry.

It's usually a sign of rain within 24 hours because typically the moist flow that precedes a storm around here is the perfect set up for these clouds.

This is for a frequently driven (not daily driven) C5Z06.

I have a lot of paint chips so if the price is right i might just get it painted if the price is right.

1. Which shop around Seattle does the best paint job?

2. How much does a paint job that will look as good as new from factory cost approximately?
I have seen estimates of 5000$ and more. Someone said it is show car quality.
How is show car quality paint better than factory? more durable?

or maybe save some money and go with a good detail and cut in the meantime:
3. Which detail shop around Seattle can be trusted for removing swirls etc?

Some of you know I just picked this car up recently. I've always been into 66-67 Chevelles and thought this was a change I wanted to make. It may sound strange amongst vette owners, but I don't find it a good fit.

I just put it through emisions last week and it now has Oregon plates on it.

Alot of money was spent on the 408 build with a 4" Eagle crank, Eagle rods with L19 rod bolts, JE pistons, L92 heads, Comp Cam, 60lb injectors, LPE pump, ceramic coated 1 3/4 headers with Borla exhaust. Drilled and slotted rotors on all fours. New Kumho tires with maybe 5k on them. After market radiator and of course the P1SC Procharger and intercooler. The car really has a nice growl to it with the Borla exhaust.

I took it out to PIR the weekend I got it home and it trapped 125mph barely rolling on the throtle on the stock tires, so I know it makes some power, yet was pulling down 24.5 mpg on the freeway.

I'm in the car close to 22k after my trip, but I'd be happy to walk away with 21k to pick up another Chevelle I've found.

About 10k miles on the engine build including all the accesories. Car has just over 68k on it.

Thanks,

Well "young" grasshopper came home from Central this weekend so we could mount the winter wheels on...

Well "young" grasshopper came home from Central this weekend so we could mount the winter wheels on his Integra and we decided to go to the car show Sat afternoon. The poor kid is now 6'4" ... we got our first opportunity to sit in a Z06 and he couldn't fit. He's just too tall, boy was he disapointed. The only car he could really fit in and see straight out the windshield was the new Camaro.

We thought the Spyker C8 was really nice but a bit too much chrome and geeze if you have a front end fender bender it's gotta cost you at least 50 grand. We both really liked the Tesla and it was our first chance to see one up close.

Sat in the new grandsport and the leather treatment on the dash and interior was actually pretty nice but it's a 10 grand option. Chevy has got to do better than that for the vette.

OK my flame suit is on... after sitting in all the reasonably affordable cars the one I really liked the most and am going to actually take out for a test drive when they hit the dealship floor is the ....... (oh golly I never thought I would say this) its the... 2010 Hyundai Elantra Coupe ... it was really sleek looking :willy: and very very comfortable to sit in. I think these guys might actually have a winner in this car. I'd post a picture here but I can't find a full side shot on the internet that looks anywhere as good as the car does in person.:o

November 29 is the Kick-off of the Marine Corps Reserve's 2009 Toys for Tots campaign. On that day they will be in the parking lot of ShopKo on Coburg Road from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are told it will be similar to last year: many groups have been invited to participate; come and stay as long as you are able; and they are collecting new, unwrapped toys.

last year was a huge success, that the marines have invited the corvettes back again this year. i know there were a few from the forum that showed up, and brought donations for the US marines. last year they had the eugene police, oregon state troopers, fire department, the marines... they also offered rides in fire trucks, and police cars, and they also had the oregon duck cheerleaders
