So out went the pass. seat, Pete pulled the sway bar and lent me his GTO skinnys. First pass was a 11.995 @ 117 with a somewhat soft launch (1.75 60). Unfortunately, I was able to get only 1 more run, in which I raised the rpm's to about 5k and blew up the tires. Shame because there was some great air, and I know I could've dropped my 60 another tenth.

I have never been to the track... I just borrowed my friends GTech Pro and took it out for a spin. I have never been to the track because I have a vert and they wouldn't let me run.

Anyway, car is 2004 Z51 Vert with 415 rwhp and 380 rwt. Tires are Michelin PS2 305/30/19. Trans is A4 with 3.42 rear gears.

Best I could get was a 12.8 @ 111. 2.0 60'. Why is my car so slow? I thought for sure I would be low 12's. I launched from idle or else I would get wheel spin, also got some spin in 2nd.

the car spined first and the beginning of 2nd but still pulled hard. it was bogging pretty bad after every gear.we were thinking its cause my a/f is all messed up in high rpms. when i got the wideband tune a couple of months back my clutch was slipping so he didnt really get the a/f dead on. im getting retuned this weekend and cant wait to go back. my friend got an awesome vid of the run. will post it up as soon as he sends it to me.

I have a bolt-on FRC and on 3 year-old takeoff Michelin PS1's I cut a 2.13 60' time(went 12.81 at 113 on that run). They wouldn't hook on anything past a 2500rpm launch and was losing serious traction on the first 2 shifts.

Horrible I know. I don't have any money for DR's but do have some fairly new Nitto NT05's on the car now. I didnt take the time to update everyone to officially say that I purchased the 2008 Atomic Orange C6Z06 Saturday.
It was one hell of a trip to go get it and had alot of fun and great stories. C5kid on here went with me. Figured he found my 2000 FRC for me on corvetteforum that what better than to have him along for the next purchase. He's always been a great friend and level minded/headed with things... and he has HP tuners to check for codes :)
The car is great, smooth accelleration alot of torque down low, nice interior for the most part, quiet! LOL! Brakes like a freaking machine and steering like a big gocart.
Not looking to do alot of mods yet. Need to getter looking really pretty like a good waxer would do. I want to get every drop of performance out of the car and hone my driving skills with the new whip before any changes. Gonna try to be a little more methodical with this run. Either way I'm happy to have ragtopws6/LS123/Rick Kim to help me out at Crisswell Chevy with any issues I have and assure me that the car will be a smooth well engineered machine. I wouldnt know what i'd do w/o his help.
Right now most importantly the car needs some tires in the rear cause she's got 21,290miles and they are the originals at about 2/32nds and dont hook up for crap in 1st/2nd/3rd. Cold old bald tires on cold streets is no fun. Can't run the car out hard to see how well it runs and pratice a little. I'll keep everyone updated as I progress with the car. I'm going to see what i can do to get the car to the track this year, weighed, and dynoed for a base to start improving upon.
