Did anyone catch that guy on TV ditch his Bugatti Veyron in a lake? Think it was in Florida. Latest news reports are saying they think he did it for the insurance money. I would like to think that the car just got away from him, after all we are talkin over 1000hp here. But I guess the authorities are looking at everything. I guess the insurance must be a monster. Itll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Just had the halo painted black and the stock thin spokes powder coated, 5% tint all around, painted calipers, front bolts removed, rear lowered. BSM's will be removed this winter along with a new exhaust and some other engine mods. Just bought it in May and wonder why I waited so long to own one!
Sorry about the quality of pics, it was 10 degrees with 30 mph winds.
Finally got the pics to post farther down in this thread.

This will be my 3rd time fixing it. I love it

Oh well time to add that LS6 intake I've been holding off on.

The first one lasted about 2 months and this one over a year. I torqued it to specs and everything.
How many have you guys gone through?

...why do C5's (I am assuming that it is particular to C5's) have so much difficulty with the fuel gauge? I have run into it and treated it with Techron and now only use Exxon gas, but can't wonder why this is an issue. I know some of the issues with sulphur deposits, but why only with the vette? I guess I am asking what is the fundamental engineering problem that needs to be fixed, the sending unit, the gage,...?

I haved owned and currently own a vast array of other cars and none seem to have had this issue. I always took the fuel gauge operating correctly as a given in todays automotive environment and I am perlexed that the vette would have this type of an issue.

Guess my rwhp ?

Hi guys a friend of mine will be going to get his car dyno tuned by a respectable tuner in our area named Bob Kurgan. I am thinking I will have my 97 manual dyno ( 224x dynojet dyno) while I am there with him just to see what my rwhp is with my minor mods below. I know dyno numbers can vary from dyno to dyno and the real test imo is the ¼ et as long as the 60’ is decent but a dyno is a start what I might expect and as far as my minor mods.

Anyone want to guess what my rwhp will be and what would you say is the avg rwhp on a bone stock manual 97-99 C5 is?

Mods
Z06 AB & K&N
ECS tune 93 Octane
160* w/fan settings
Magnaflow 732’s
*LS6 intake manifold

I will post my dyno numbers and dyno chart after we go there will be interesting to see my timing and afr imo.

*LS6 intakre shortly

Found some great posts about it...Toque's is especially well done.

Any other specifics anyone can add to help make the job easier?

In particular, do I just need the one cable or is that adapter\controller required as well? I see Crutchfield has the setup or is there a better source?
