Bought a K&N high flow intake kit,39-3060-1, install gave me a few problems, the kit seems to loosen up at the screw clams that secure the silicone hose to the filter box on a regular basis, and the rubber mounts don't seem to go home like the stock piece, then after a few on/off cycles it will throw a bank one low catalytic. converter efficiency code, I know it's the k&n because I put the original intake tube and filter back on and it goes and stays away. I have looked for air leaks, found none, moved the tube forward and backwards attempting to get a better fit, no help, now I'm wondering if there is a tune up aka re-curve the air/fuel mixture...There is an additional problem everytime I pull the battery terminals I loose minutes on the car's phone, it seems that drops with lose of power.

I believe K&N when they say it gives you 27 hp I can feel it and in a non subjective way, the tires break loose in second gear when you roll into the throttle at 30mph. I would like to keep it on if possible. Has anyone else experienced this, did you find a fix, if so what was it?

Come watch some great road racing!

MTI Racing will be at Road Atlanta Sat/Sun Nov. 28 & 29. This is the Thanksgiving weekend. It will be a great place to bring family (or escape from family).

We will be racing the MTI Racing 2010 Camaro and our record-setting Z06 Corvette with the 500cu.in. RHS block. We will also have a bunch of our track day customers there enjoying the weekend in their Corvettes, Camaros, and Cadillacs too.

We encourage everyone to come out and join us. Bring a camera. These events are great for spectators wanting to see and hear some incredible rides as they fly around one of Georgia's most iconic race tracks.

Just look for the HUGE MTI Racing tractor trailer in the paddock area and come on by and say hello and check out some of the shops newest project cars.

Ok, so I have a few cars in my garage. I don't do bras (pun intended) so they get rock chips. I usually have the front clips painted every year and a half or so. My '01 Coupe has had the nose painted 3 times already and my Z once.

I go to my paint guy that I haven't seen in awhile and tell him that I have waited a bit too long and need the front clips painted on my 4 cars. What I usually pay $700+/- now costs $2,500! Everything has to be blended from the bumper through the fenders including the hood. I thought my guy was nuts so I went to a couple of other places and was told the same thing.

You see, in the infinate wisdom of CARB, no one can use VOC laden paint as of Jan 1st. Everything is done in water base paint now. Only the clear can have slight traces of VOCs. A buddy told me to take off the front clips and send them out of state for paint. Not a bad idea.

What say CF Z06 section?

Needing paint:
'01 C5 front fascia (black)
'06 Z06 front fascia (M Silver)
'89 IROC lower air dam (OEM red)
'05 Silverado SS front bumber cover (black)

There are a couple little things from the 2LZ that I really miss on my 1LZ - the homelink and the bluetooth (the telescoping wheel would be nice, but I'm not tall enough to really need it :)). The Homelink/Car2u is pretty easy to add which brings me to the bluetooth.

I've read threads saying it is impossible/not worth it to add it to an 06-08 car. Since it runs through the new style Onstar, wouldn't it be a simple plug in to run it on an 09 1LZ? Any help/part numbers/prices would be greatly appreciated! :bigears

As most of you have seen and heard, HRE has released their new 560 Series. These wheels are designed to target the car enthusiast who wants an extremely high quality three piece forged wheel, but doesn’t have the means to step into a 790R, 890R, or 590R Series.

Here are some of the key attributes of the 560C/R Series:

· Hidden hardware three piece construction.

· 6061 T6 Forged Aluminum.

· 18” – 20” sizes available immediately. 21” and 22” coming soon.

· Choice of lip styles. Stepped Comp lip in 19” and 20”. Reverse flat lip in 18” – 20”.

· RETAIL PRICE FOR A SET OF FOUR $4400 - $5200 for 18” – 20”.

· Custom finishes available.

· Unsurpassed quality from a TUV Verified company.

· Clean, precisely engineered designs that are setting the standard for wheels in this price range.

We all know there are many other wheel brands available in this price range. HRE challenges them to produce a better quality, custom built, forged wheel than what we know we can deliver.

Please do not hesitate to call me directly to discuss the new 560 Series in greater detail.
