Guess my rwhp ?

Hi guys a friend of mine will be going to get his car dyno tuned by a respectable tuner in our area named Bob Kurgan. I am thinking I will have my car (97 manual) dyno while I am there with him just to see what my rwhp is with my minor mods below. I know dyno numbers can vary from dyno to dyno and the real test again imo is the � et as long as the 60� is decent then see if the dyno numbers look on target.

Anyone want to guess what my rwhp will be and btw what would you say is the avg rwhp on a stock manual 97 C5?

I will post my dyno numbers and dyno chart after we go there will be interesting to see my timing and afr imo.

Doing Valve Springs, got a couple ???'s

Ok, so the plugs are out, the valve covers off & the air hose adapter is in the plug hole..... Do I just remove the rocker and get with it, or do I need to position the crank to a certain spot for each cylinder?

Gonna replace valve seals also, what special tools will I need to put the new ones on?

Does anyone have the GM or AC Delco part number for replacement pad guide pins for the 6 piston front calipers? Is there a different p/n for the allen head or the torx? I need the allen heads if I can get them.

Your help is appreciated.

broken exhaust manifold bolts

I was helping a friend on his c-5 (1999) replace his exhaust/ He broke off two of the four bolts that attach the mufflers to the center pipes. We then thought we need to remove the pipes to the exhaust manifolds. Could not get the exhaust manifold bolts out and they are broken off in the exhaust manifolds.
Forunately, the car is on the lift.
What is your suggestions for getting the broken bolts out with having to remove the exhaust manifolds

Drill a hole in the TB Plate?

Recently I had the car on the dyno and have been driving it around a couple of days each week. I've noticed that if I'm cruising at a steady speed and bump the car into nuetral(6 speed) the car will try to hunt for idle. Typically this will happen when I approach redlights and/or stop signs. So, I called the tuner, explained the situation and he stated that I should drill a 7/32" diameter hole in the TB plate.

I've heard of doing this before, but is this REALLY the correct way to solve the problem?

Take a look at some of these incredible clouds captured over Mt. Rainier yesterday.

Those are called "lenticular clouds" They're caused when the air flow is just right so when it flows over Mt. Rainier , the air gets pushed upward where it cools and condenses into clouds. Depending on how smooth the flow is, you can get some amazing clouds formations as we've seen so far today. Here is more information on what causes them from an earlier blog entry.

It's usually a sign of rain within 24 hours because typically the moist flow that precedes a storm around here is the perfect set up for these clouds.

iPod install

So since I am having to pull the radio to fix my non-working CD player (See my "Err" posting) I figured I would add the iPod cable as well!

Found some great posts about it...Toque's is especially well done.

Any other specifics anyone can add to help make the job easier?

In particular, do I just need the one cable or is that adapter\controller required as well? I see Crutchfield has the setup or is there a better source?

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for helping me with my alignment questions. It has really helped in my decision to find a perfect mechanic to work on my car! Taken around 1970-1971, these were pictures my Father took of different ways people hauled their carpet home from his store. For may years they were displayed on a post in his store. I recently scanned a few of them and thought I'd share.

This was always one of my favorites. Can you imagine someone doing such a thing with their Daytona today?

Another of my favorites. This car would be worth a buck or two today. Gotta love the old flat bed trailer - hell most Pro Bracket guys have better trailers than this!

Is it possible for a stock c6 z06 to run 10:1 and another 12:1 on the same dyno? Or, should they all be realtively close?
