Fastest Street Vette in TX is on again! We need some "Real Vette's" to attend!
Ok....we're on again!
Dec 6th.....11am...Hallsville, TX.
I know we were pretty close on getting some "real" Vette's out there last time, so here's another chance!
They're starting earlier at 11am, so it won't be such a late night.
So what do you say? Let's get some cool fast cars out there to show what we can do! I know there are some fast ones around here..time to play!
Wouldn't you just love to see a 327 midyear spank a Z06?? Or some good 'ole fashioned sloppy cubic inches play with them new fangled laptop controlled whiz bang remote control C-5's??? Or a sneaky C-3 with an LS1 up underneath? Or a C-1 with a 6-71 Blower? Wouldn't it be cool??? How 'bout a 12 sec 283/270 car? I know they're out there.
Not sure we can beat any of them...but it sure would be fun to add a little spice to the party wouldn't it?
Let's get to work, we only have a couple of weeks!

Jim - I hope that your have a good turn out. Out here we have the All Corvette drags at Sacramento California Raceway.
It's always a good turn out. The fastest car last June was a sub 8 second N/A some kind of ProMod class car N/A car. Sad to say out of all the body styles to choose from he picked Late C-4. If it would have been me and any shell style to choose from it would be a 63 spit rear window

their will be some 9 second c-5's out this time...and alot of 10 second ones also. most of these guys are not old enough to remember 265's,283's and 140 solid lift cams, 30-30 cams with powerpack heads... :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah, last time I figured there would have been some 9 sec passes. Lots of these events have them pretty regularly. No doubt there could even be some 9 sec. LS1's N/A..the Camaro guys are doing it.
So I figure for sure this time will have some serious hitters there.
But wouldn't it be cool to see some other stuff out there? I mean, hey there's a bracket race program that anyone could compete in!
There's lots of 13 sec C-5's so I figure bunches of "old tech" stuff could have fun and with all the big blocks around here there ought to be a few 11-12 sec ones for sure. I saw a midyear convertible running 11.90's a few years ago with a 4 speed and 3.36's and a small block with no bottle. I thought it was pretty cool. A set of gears would have had him really flying!

Hey a 14.14@96 with a 283/glide Chevelle is STILL fast! In 1977 that was flying! Remember Trans Ams and Z-28's were running 15's by then.
I was driving a 14.60's Pinto with a 4 banger, header, milled head, cam and 4.11's! I had a blast picking on V-8's...uh oh...this is getting close to Ricer territory!
