Default We need some old Vette's to run at the Fastest Street Vette in Tx" race on Nov 15th!

The Fastest Street Vette in TX race is coming up on Nov 15th. I went to spectate last time and besides the '65 my buddy and I rode over in, there were about 2 other C-3's there.

This is terrible...the baddest, coolest best looking Vettes ever made...C1's, C-2's and C-3's need to come out and defend our honor!

There is no way there isn't a bunch of killer rides out there that couldn't spank a few C-5's!

So what do you say? Let's see...there's WA2FST with that new set of AFR heads...There's VetteManiac with a 540", Tremec C-3.....there's Zwede with the 454" EFI Tremec C-3....'67 RATRAG...You may not be ready to beat on it yet....but it would be a good shakedown cruise for it?

Who else?

I see lots of 383 and 406" deals on here. What about that NOS fed 406 (teeenager?)?.

How 'bout the old ones with LT-1s and LT-4's and LS1's in them? I see them at shows in Houston....let's see 'em run!

I'm going and my buddy's '65 is getting some new heads, cam in the 'ole 327 and a 5 speed installed just for the occasion.

Let's bring out some real cars with a little old technology and prove it still works today!

They have classes that let everyone find a happy place.either heads up or bracket racing. It's a great way to spend the evening!

If nothing else we'll have the most "style"points!

JIM

I am going to try to make this event next year. Is it held in the same place every year? Do they allow Vettes from other states. If not, got a license plate I can barrow :D

Sounds like fun but it would mean I'd have to get off my lazy behind and change the oil , get behind the wheel and drive down ect .

Have fun and take pics . Newer cars look good in the rear view mirror :)

Man that sounds like alot of fun.

However, they would never let me have more than one run. I don't have a cage, or NHRA license. My car will run 9.60s on the "safe" 150 tune. I just put the 200hp tune and it is a whole different animal.

I guess I'll just hafta keep it on the street for now.

You could run N/A or add just enough spray to kick a few C-5's!

It's NOT an IHRA or NHRA track. The rules are up to track owners discretion. I don't think they run a poor program at all..they do check stuff. Just not as crazy as the others on street cars.

Hey Mountain....it can't be any further from your house than mine! Plus I got a couple of Vette diffs I've been saving for you for a long time!

See ya,

Weather is looking good so far. I'm in San Antonio this week and it's really cooling off. The temps have been into the low 60's at night, baro has been over 30.0 and humidity is in the 35-40% range which is TONS better than last week when I ran my car.

It looks like we could at least get some 50's at night. If the rain stays away we're going to have some FUN!!

One more plea......let's get some REAL Vette's up there! I saw some midyear 327's posting very low 13's on G-techs this week on radials and back roads. Could easily be some 12's on a good surface. There goes most of the C-5's!

Get some of you 350-383-400 guys there and we could see a few Z06's getting that worried look in their eye! I saw a silver midyear convertible a couple of years ago in San Antonio hit high 11's with a small block and aluminum heads with a 4 speed and 3.36's on slicks! He was running 3rd gear right to the line! Fantastic to watch!

Throw in the occasional big block. If we get a few of the ones that post here out there, the best seat in the house will be at the finish line when those big mutha's start reeling in those pesky 'lil C-4's and C-5's!

So go out in the garage and pull up a chair next to "your baby". Spend a few minutes working on getting your mindset together with that bad mamma-jamma you've been working on all year...and tell yourself it's time to use it like Zora did!! Flat out!

If you're not ready for that, c'mon out anyway with your ride. You can show everyone where your real heart lies and support the old cars by being there with yours!

And if you can fit a set of 10x26" slicks on your car with some 8" rally wheels, I still let you borrow my slicks. But you gotta give 'em back when I need them!

And once again, I'll have a trailer there. If mine doesn't scatter anything, it can drive home. I'll be glad to help anyone going back to Houston if I can! And I know folks around Dallas too if we need to help going that way!
