Default 041's VS vortec's

I was just wondering how much improvement if any would be felt or measureable from a head swap such as my 2.02 valve 041's to a scoggin dickey moded set of vortec's. Is running the 041's like living in the stone age? I've run calculations using my ET and trap speed and come up with about 268-274 RWHP. Thanks

I would think it would be a sizable increase in power.

Those Vortecs flow better than the older Bowtie of a few years ago and those 041's...well they flow well for an old production casting. I have a set of 041's on my 406 with the 2.02's as well. It is also possible that the 2.02's hurt flow over the stock 1.94's due to valve shrouding unless you worked them over a bit...I did not do this, but oh well.

I would make the swap, but I'm going with AFR's since I have a bit of money now to do so...

Good luck!

:)

The swap can be expensive - new intake, machine for bigger lifts, etc.

Maybe some head porting would be cheaper...
Full porting comes close or better.
