Default Missing oil passage plug

The machine shop forgot to install the oil passage plug that routes the oil to the oil filter. Now I need to do it and its something I've never tried...and I don't want to screw it up. Is there a "special" technique for pressing one of these in? I can't find any info on it. Any help appreciated.

You can tap it in using a pin that fits into the galley plug. I'm not sure the diameter of your plug, but I've used 1/4" and 3/8" drive extensions before. The female end of the extension fits nicely into the plug, then tap on the end of the extension to install plug. Use a screwdriver to feel how deep you need to go. Go just far enough to make sure you are past the lower cross galley( the one going to mains). You do not want to plug it off, but you also need to make sure you do not go too deep.

The plug drops in from the bottom and should fall about 1 inch down. Then with a 3/8 straight punch drive it down about another 3/8 inch. If you go too far you will restrict the oil to the engine.
