I've got a $40 discount from Motion Software (http://motionsoftware.com) for Dyno-, Drag-, or FastLap2003. I have Dyno2000 and it is fun, but I'm not sure if it is worth the discounted price for the updated program. Anyone already have Dyno2003 and want to comment?
The improvements that catch my eye include RPM down to 1,500, more intake manifolds, and better cam event modeling. This is their description:
"New 2003 Features Include: Shorter Bores & Strokes (As Small As 2.5-Inch Bore, 2-Inch Stroke; 1.5-Inch Stroke And 2-Inch Bore with optional ProTools™ Kit). Improved Induction Models, More Intake Manifolds, Supplied With 100+ Cylinder Head Flow Files. Improved Cylinderhead Flow Modeling, Supports 1, 2, or 3 Valves Per Port. QuickIterator™ Fast One-Button Testing And Powerful, ProIterator™ (optional). New CamManager™ Visually Displays Cam Timing, Models Lobe Acceleration, Improves Accuracy. The Ultimate Cam Selection Tool! Dyno2003 Supplied With Over 800 CamFiles. Add 3500 More With CamDisk3. All CamFiles Load Automatically In CamManager™! New “XP” Colors And Graphics, QuickAccess™ Buttons, More Engine Data, 140-Page Color Users Manual, And More!"
Is CamDisk3 worth it? Or are the 800 Cam files sufficient?
Re: Opinions on Upgrading to Dyno2003? (69stingray)
I would be intrested in seeing if they solved the flow issues that look to be found in the 2000 program. What I mean is, the turbo setup part seems to give out some inaccurate numbers, and according to them, the lower the cfm flow of the turbos the more power your engine makes, example, I could have over 1,400hp with my engine if the turbos flowed a whopping 100cfm. but if they flowed near a 1000cfm, the power drops down to the low 500hp mark, it's totally on crack if you ask me. But otherwise it is a very accurate program if your running NA. Anyone else experience this?
