It's essentially still around. If you live in an area that requires oxygenated gasoline it might have up to ten percent ethanol. The other widely used oxygenate is MTBE, but it's being phased out. Within a couple of years all oxygenated gasolines will have ethanol.

The 90/10 mixture of gasoline/ethanol - "gasohol" - that was marketed beginning in the early eigthies predated the oxygenate requirement.

I use Sunoco gas and on the pumps it says it contains up to 10% alcohol. It aids in reducing pollution.

Technically, not really, but the liberal politicians, bureaucrats, and farm lobby want you to believe this statement.

Must have drank some last night as I have a severe hangover and gas. In Ontario we are being legislated to use this as Norval stated, our emissions laws are just really starting to kick in and with the new " Kyoto Accord" we can expect a significant increase in the price of our gas to reduce emmissions.

I use that Sunoco gas too, I like it the best and has the highest octane rating.

I am going to have to drive around for no apparent reason in my Vette even more if they go through with the Kyoto accord. :lolg:
