Default Can you help me with my BBC?

My dad has a big block Nova.He knows the motor is not original. We 're trying to find info on it.I found these numbers on the back left hand side.I may be missing some .They were hard to read.I think they are 3855861.Does this make sense. Can anyone help?
Thanks
