Default *** Tempting Twin Turbo SB...***

I'm already looking for new project to start now that the 709 is in the final phase. In my next project a SB Twin Turbo would be a nice solution. Guys here, Monty and Twin Turbo are good examples what kinda potential lies in the mouse blocks. Anyways I've been looking for different crate TT engines and I came across a company called Nelson Racing Engines. They offer an 750hp/640tq Twin Turbo 350, anyone famiar with the company? http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/index2.html
It seems that there might be problems on how the turbos a mounted on each side, making the engine too wide for C3 enginebay. Anyways all kinda of input will be appreciated on this and other tt set ups on the market.
Cheers, jay

Nelson has been advertising the heck out of these TT crate engine the last few months in all of the hot rod magazines, and I've seen plenty of commentary on the various car forums regarding them. But I have yet to hear of anyone actually buying one.

The concept of a crate TT engine is certainly intriguing and if they could mass-produce the headers/exhaust manifolds it would certianly make it more cost effective since the manifolds/headers are typically th emost complicated and expensive component in a turbo application - at least from my experience.... Unfortunately, as you mentioned, the header design shown would be a problem in a C3 because the turbo's are mounted so high. Unless they offer other manifold/header designs, I doubt there'd be much benefit to buying one of their crate engines because the setup would have to be reworked anyway.

Why Twin Turbo? It seems like a lot of work and a lot of $$$$. Why not just build a 383 with a SuperRAM EFI & a centrifugel supercharger? Lingenfelter built one with 600 HP @ 6000 RPM & 589 TQ @ 5000 RPM. Torque climbs from 325 lb ft @ 1600 RPM to 5000 RPM. Are you going to notice the extra 100 HP from the twin turbo?

Why Twin Turbo?
More efficient, more torque and horsepower under the curve, more low end torque, easily tunable boost/torque curve, more reliable, etc.
