Default Pistons are in...

And yes, that's Glyptal (electric armature enamel) in the valley..

I put all ARP hardware on the bottom (main studs, new rod bolts.)

Hopefully it'll be to this stage in the next month.. I just set everything on to see how it'd look...

L98 heads off of a '90 Vette that I bought from a forum member. The exhaust guides were a bit worn but I didn't expect them not to be, really. Exhaust guides tend to wear faster; I'm having bronze sleeves put in the exhaust, and I'm going to ceramic coat the heads just like I did with the pistons.

I'm using a Crane Fireball 290 cam - it doesn't make any sense to use this cam on most cars, but it will work VERY well on a CrossFire with the single pattern. Specs are 216/216 @.050", 290/290 (advertised) 110LCA, .454"/.454" lift. I've got 1.6:1 roller-tip (stamped steel) rockers to go with it.

And yes, that's a custom lid I made out of phenolic sheet to get rid of all the junk on the underside of the stock lid (so it's smooth) and reduce heat that gets transferred to the throttle bodies.
