Default Spend $$$ on Stroke 350 to 383 or P&P D-port heads

Opinions?

I guess I can always P&P the D-ports later. My builder says the HP/TQ improvement $$ are better spent on the stroke job! Make sense?

why is it costing you more to build a 383? the crank is $50 more, the 6" rods are like $20 more than 5.7", the pistons sometimes cost more, i think the forged speed pros are still under $350. machine work is a little more, figure a couple hundred there, main studs are a must for setting up the windage try, plus they are stronger anyway. if you spend more than $500 total more for a 383 something isn't right.

Thats the info I was looking for. The builder says I am better off spending money on a 383 than spending $1000 on CNC porting the D-heads.

If the difference is that little in cost for stroking as opposed to going to a 355 then it only makes sense, to me, to stroke it and put larger valves on the Intake side with a new cam and intake. The D-ports stock are way better than my iron heads, they have to be with a valve job and lareger valves.

Thanks!
