Default "spread exhaust port" heads for pre 92

has anyone any experience with heads that have the "spread" exhaust port (versus the standard siamese type)? power or reliability benefits?

any long tube headers available for the c4?

Default Re: "spread exhaust port" heads for pre 92 (johndezman)

Spread port heads are generally made for all out CFM flow. I opted against them because of two reasons. One being the $1000's for custom type headers in the 1 7/8th to 2 inch primary range. My other concern was raised port intakes with 230+ cc port volumes. I didn't think that my little 383 ci could swallow all that.

Now if your building a 415+ ci SBC with a solid rollers and intend on hitting 7000+ rpm an a regular basis I'd say go for it! :)

I'd check with Stahl headers
