Default blower

I have a 1976 L-48. 49 federal. Hence no smog pump. But it still has to pass testing in Ca. Would a blower such as the weiand 142 be safe if I wasnt beating on it? I think Im 9.5:1 I just wanna have a little seat kick once in a while. Not to abuse it. Im thinking this is probably cheaper than a building up an existing motor. Just 5 pounds of boost.

I put the Weiand 142 on a stock ZZ4 short block with 72 cc Edelbrock heads, Comp cam and 750 Holley. Never hurt it!
Tatoo'ed quite a few streets!

Back when, I had a B&M blower with Mukini side draft carbs on a 1976 L48 ran great once I got the jetting worked out.
