Can anyone tell me why we don't run a gear drive in LSx engines?

With a few engine failures either blamed on timing chains or the broken chain was the result of valve train failure in these broken LS engines, I would think a Pete Jackson or whatever gear drive system sounds like an option. Waddaya think? Any product out there?

Don't know firsthand but possibly issues with the knock sensor picking up the "noise" from the gear drive and pulling timing way back?
