Default i bought a crate motor yesterday - cam experts come in

402 CI aluminum LS2 block with a forged 4.00" Callies crank and Forged Manley H-Beam rods/pistons. AFR 225 cc BIG bore heads that have 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. they flow 320 cfm @ .600' lift on the intake and 250 cfm @ .600 lift on the exhaust. the compression ratio is 11.2:1

the cam is a comp cams hydraulic roller with .596 lift and a 114 LSA.

the duration on the intake is 250* @ .050 and the exhaust is 246* @ .050

so can anybody tell me what rpm this cam will make peak power at? i am guessing 7,000 rpm's

this motor is gonna be going into my '01 camaro SS. i am gonna run a 92mm fast intake and throttle body with 1-7/8" Hooker headers and no exhaust with just the straight 3" collectors. i am also gonna spray a 150 shot of nitrous direct port

Talk with COMP Cam's Tech Support. They can tell you for sure as well as what compression ratio works best with the cam. You might let them know about your intended use of nitrous oxide to make sure the overlap in the cam isn't allowing most of your 150 shot to end up in the exhaust.

thanks

they told me that it is not a nitrous cam and it has a XE lobe. i am gonna put a nitrous grind in it with a XE-R lobe. should make peak power at or below 7,000 rpm's just where i want it

Your real problem is the H-rollers. Valve float will be the limiting factor.

I've been using Solids for years and with modern allen locking nuts on the rockers the minor chore of setting them is more of check because they rarely change.

The other thing holding your motor back is just a lack of CI. 250 intake on 400 ci makes for a radical motor when combined to high cfm heads.

Peak at about 6700 rpm. Just hope it has Morel lifters in it.

Somewhat similar to my 427. Mine is 11.9 CR with a 252* 264* .647 .647 on a 110*. My heads are TEA Ported/polished/flowed L92s (262cc intake runners flow 348cfm @ .600) I would say without a doubt that your car will put down over 500whp NA. Probably closer to 550(without Nitrous) Especially with those heads. Probably be shifting @ 6700-ish. Do yourself a favor and(if its a 6 speed) break in your clutch properly.(ask me how i know....) $1000 mistake!... Good Luck! -Jason
