I use JEGS alu heads ( http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/JEGS-SB-C...50801/10002/-1 ) in my build.
I having a hard time to get intake vavle 3 and 4 to align center on the vavle tip. I got the tips to cut the guideplate, re-align the rockers and then weld it togheter.
Im not to found of that solution as im not a experienced welder, nor have i got a MIG/TIG.
My other ide is to get self-align rockers, and get rid of the guideplates.
So the qeustion is.
Can I use self-align rockers with those heads, if i take off the guideplates?
And will the use of self-align rockers mess up my otherwise good vavletrain setup ( push rod length etc )?
You can not use guide plates to force a push rod over to align the rocker arm. Correctly adjusted push rod guides never touch the shaft. Slight non centering is no big deal. When you get into heads that have wider or altered valve placement the fix is offset roller lifters or offset rocker arms
