Open Diff to Posi for my 1960 what other Chevy units will swap out?

Open Diff to Posi for my 1960 what other Chevy units will swap out? I heard that some 55 - 64 Chevy units will swapp out. Anyone know what is involved in this swap. Any modifications necessary for non-corvette rear? Can I update the unit with a later unit like a 63 - 67?
