I don't have a supercharger, I have a blower so they act a little differently. Take it for a drive, you will not really get any boost at normal driving speeds. Yours is rpm dependent so boost will rise with rpm. You won't hurt anything in normal driving. Let us know how it goes.
Good luck

Norval has an 8-71 roots type blower (supercharger) on his Vette. Just picture a top fuel dragster motor. :D

C4, and C5 superchargers are centrifical, like a turbocharger. They are pulley driven, and force air into the intake, where it is then mixed with the fuel. With a roots type supercharger, the carbs/injectors are on top of it. This requires cutting a hole in the hood for clearance.

Oh, never mind.. i knew that ;) ... blowers sit on the intake, SC's are an "accessory" :D

The terms are usually interchangeable.

To me a supercharger is like a large fan that makes boost with rpm. There maximum boost comes in at maximum rpm. At 3000 they make little or no boost. A blower sits on top of the intake and make boost at any rpm so long as the throttles are open. The blower is larger then the engine it is feeding , but the carbs restrict it's ability to breath. Open the carbs and the blower suddenly gets all the air it wants and it instantly probuces boost. I can get 10 psi by 1500rpm. My wife has a SSEI supercharged bonneville and it has a blower on top of the motor. It gives 8psi boost anytime you ask for it . Smooth flow of power at any rpm

This is my 8-71 blower on a 460.

Dennis, without hesitation buy a large Bosch intank fuel pump (drop in installation). Without it your probably running a 13.8 to1 air fuel ratio which is way to lean. When the snow starts to melt get a dyno tune to adjust the computor. If your running sunoco 94 you may not have any problem. If so, a1/4 point adjustment on the retard may be all that is necessary. If the wallet permits discard the Vortech supplied air intake to the supercharger. Have a custom made 4" intake installed. Have fun.
