Default 700 kickdown!

well if its not one thing its another! the car seems to be running good, but my problem is that it wont kickdown. ive tried to tweak the tv cable to get it to do so. (adding spacers) the trans is rebuilt with a shift kit and ive got a higher stall(~2300) I know, I know probably too much for the stock motor, but my thoughts were to get the trans set up for a stronger motor while it was out, thus saving time and money later. the tv cable is the stock one for the tpi. i bought the holley bracket and mount for the 600 carb. the car pulls pretty good, but it bogs down when you mash it on take off. I still have the computer hooked up to the harness, would this be a problem? i havent installed a lock up switch yet, so i keep it out of 4th gear. Anyone with ideas?????
