Default It's done, my Vette's gone.

The owner of the race car chassis shop came and picked up my car today to have the twin turbo system fabricated. He said it'll take about 4-5 weeks, but I'm gonna go down there in the mean time and take some pics of the progress.

Now that I don't have a car out in the garage to tinker with, I don't know what the heck I'm gonna do in my free time. Maybe I can finally watch the first two seasons of The Sopranos on DVD, play XBOX, drink beer...

Monty: What rear end upgredes did you do to handle the 427, and what are you going to do to the twin turbo set up. If the rear is stock, will it handle the power of that turbo (on street tires of course) any plans to drag race it.

I installed Tom's spindles and upgraded ujoints a couple of years ago when I rebuilt the rear bearings and diff, but it's nothing near what needs to be done. I really haven't decided what I'm going to do yet - I guess my only choices are Tom's 30 spline setup, or go for a 4-link coil over 9" or Dana 60. I'd prefer to stay with an IRS system because it's a 99% street car and I prefer the handling and ride, but it would be nice to know that I could step on it or put some slicks on it and see what it would do at the track.

JD, you think Frank will take it back to LPE for the TT treatment?

Jeff, that would be cool. What are you doing to it?

If you're that bored, you can always walk across town and see if you can add a couple hundred horsepower to my 'Vette. :yesnod: ;)

Glad to hear it's coming along.

I am swapping the 89 Interior to the 91 interior.. Most of it is done now.. there still is some pieces for the interior I need to complete

I need to install the new engine harness. I have a different exhaust system I need to try out..

Also I need to replace my Master Cylinder and hook up my Line Lock.

Next time I plan on being in the garage on a Sat i will email you to see if you want to stop by.

Jeff

Monty,

Not too sure if He'd bring it to LPE. Currently...it'd have to receive new pistons(As yours did) and headers and the rest of that good stuff. Turbos are cool. I had a nasty TT Dutty Stang(7.52@180 best so far-2640#s w/driver). It's high maintenance...but big power requires this. Wanna play, ya have to pay! You'll have a MONSTER on your hands. :D:D I get goosebumps when I hear or drive in Franks, can't imagine yours.

Good luck, and keep us posted. Oh, He's getting my old PC, so He'll be on a little more often. It's like a dungeon where the current one is in His house.

TTYL.........
