Changing from 4spd to auto ?

I'm wondering what may be involved in going from a standard to an auto transmission. What kind of things like the trans and a cooler, kickdown linkage, shift linkage..... Am I looking at a big task that I should not try and tackle or is it not too bad ?
I've been going to purchase a TKO tranny, but I'm considering maybe a 700R.

Any thoughts or tips would be great. Thanks :cheers:

wow nice car! if you had an automatic & wanted to change it 2 a stick it would be alot harder. i dont think its that big of a job. why dont you like driving a stick? i wish my vette had a 6 speed. good luck. :cheers:

Thanks Yoslambo, I love your GS too :yesnod: . I've thought that if I ever get my car painted it would be pretty cool to have a GS paint scheme on it :D .

The reason I'm asking is that with the 3.90 gears I have, it's tough on the highway so I want an O/D. My thinking is that with an O/D, I'll be quicker in the 1/4 but I'll also be faster when auto crossing because I won't have to be looking for the optimum points on the course to shift my car (I'll be able to concentrate more on my driving which is good because I need all the help I can get :lol: ).
