Default Carbureted LS1 ?

I didn't know you could ... anybody know what kind of intake manifold this is ?

This is an Iron LME 408ci in an '02 SS Camaro Pro Street

Yes you can carb a LS motor!!!

Edelbrock offers two manifold designs for the LS1--a Victor Jr. single plane and a Performer RPM dual plane.

GMPP also has a LS 3 w/ carb intake w/440HP crate motor for around $5k. W/ alum block & heads, it weighs in at 414 lbs!!!

For ignition- MSD sell a box that plugs right in and it has several preset timing curves you can chose from.

GMPP just let this one out- LSX 454- 620HP

And, apparently, you can get it to fit by hacking away at the cowl with a machette!!!

They make a distributor drive for it too.

The GM front cover assembly is manufactured for application where a 4-bbl carburetor and distributor are required. It can be combined with GM's new Bowtie valve covers p/n 25534398 & 25534399 for a complete traditional looking engine package.
