Default dart big m block oil pressure

Anybody familiar with the dart big m.New motor installing a mechanincal oil pressure guage.My old guage fit by the oil filter,the new motor dart says to tap in by the top of the trans-drivers side-1/4 inch npt.Well i hooked it up and 0psi.Any ideas-guage worked perfectly before new motor.

I thought it was a 1/8 pipe in back of the left cylinder head I maybe wrong but are you tring to prime the engine??

[IMG][/IMG]NO as far as i now its a 1/4 then a male 1/8th then the stainless line.The motor was just dynoed and that is were they tapped in at.So i just went along with were they told me to tap in at.You should not have to prime if it was dynoed and installed i n the same week -at least i dont think so.

That is 1/4 pipe there as I looked down in the shop and was going by a Little-M I sitting there and I would not think it would have to be primed if it just came off the dyno but it would not hurt anything.

The only thing you can do is pull the dist. and use a priming tool and see if you can build oil pressure with the priming tool.

Im embarresed to say-i stuck a pen cap in the line to plug it when i tighten the line on it pushed it up.Stupid but easy fix so im happy.
