Default Not running smoothly after short restart.

I copied/paasted from the C4 area, no replies. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

OK, here goes. I recently adj the Scorpion 1.6 RRs i installed three years ago on my LT1. I have had NO problems with these. They were clicking and I adj them... cold engine. I did the TDC and the correct ones for #1 and then #6. Zero lash and 1/2 turn and another 1/2 flat while tightening allen screw.

The car starts and runs STRONG the first time after sitting for a complete cool down, then I get to my destination, shut it off. About 15- 20 minutes later, I'll start it and she runs like crap. Hesitates, sluggish. I ran a fuel P test and adj my adj fuel P regulator down a little (48 to 42)with no affect. I did notice the fuel P jumps a little, but I don't believe enuf to have the fuel pump be the culprit.

BTW I do not have guide plates with these either. Didn't know they may be needed at time of install, but like I said... no problems until my adj.

I'm tempted to start and run the engine 'til operating temp and make the messy while running adjustment . Cuz even after adj them on two seperate occasions, they make a little noise still after things get to temp.
Did I go too far w/ the after zero lash adj? If not, then why the clatter after warm up. That's the only thing I can think of tho. Changed plugs too, but stock heat range so highly doubt if they play a role in my un-luck.

Note, opti good, no leak water pump. plugs and wires good.. Also YES the SES DOES come on during the poor running conditions, and is out after a cool down start.

Default It's fixed!!!

Hey, just a quick note to say I found out the problem .
When I took the tension off the serp belt via the tensioner, for getting TDC to adj rockers; when I released the ratchet it snapped off the connector for engine coolant temp that screws into the waterpump (engineers on crack).
Well that sensor is the input to the digital temp display (the readings on the speedo display area that you scroll thru w/ the guage button). I scrolled to that guage to see if it corresponded with the needle guage. It was 10-15 degrees off (low). Ok, I knew that that may affect fuel delivery and timing etc. I watched that guage while it was running like crap . Got it. The temp was all over the place and I fiddled with the connector and it settled right out . I replaced that sensor and she is good to go .
I'm kind've dissapointed in this forum though. No good luck, no suggestions ..Oh well, I'm over it and hope this may help someone else.

I just read your post. I'm good with engines and troubleshooting, but no one I know could troubleshoot your problem but you because the problem isn't valvetrain adjustment related. It's just something that happened while you were doing it. Many times when I see something that I don't know the answer to, I will sit by and wait for someone else to chime in. Your problem was confusing and not related to the actual rocker arm adjustment. It certainly baffled me.
