Upgrade to LT4 specs is easy, if not cheap.

cam, port your stock heads and intake; longtube headers and a good tune.

A stroker crank is a good upgrade, and they are a lot cheaper than they used to be. You can also bump the compression considerably if you are using a larger cam. The LT1 383 in my 97 Camaro SS is 12.3:1 and runs on 93 octane. I'd have the stock heads ported, or go to some good aftermarket heads like the TrickFlows or AFR. The LT4 stuff isn't worth the money IMHO.

Even tho I'm having problems for now, I still like my 1.6 RR's. Like a mini cam swap but w/o all the hassle.

I took a 92 LT1 and rebuilt as a 383 stroker. Ported heads and intake, LT headers, etc etc. Runs 11's.

I took my 92 and put a full forged 383 with ported afr190's, full exhaust and a vortech pushing 12psi of boost. Just over 600 hp.

Most bang for the buck , K & N and cut out air box Quality Longtube Headers W/ x pipe and 3 in. exhaust

Everything else calls for megabucks and a low milage engine.

Determine your budget/what you're willing to spend and then determine your mods. Speed is merely a matter of money.

Agreed, I see this mod alot for the Camaro's and Trans Ams out there, they do this and add headers and next thing there in the 12's. The Hotcam/RR and Headers alot of HP for your buck.

Exactly so; there are a lot of things you COULD do - budget determines what you CAN do.
