Default Building engine that won't be started for 2 months.

Hi guys,

Looking for recommendations on assembly lube and which bearings need it.

Used to be STP was the thing to use, but I'd like something that will not dry out or run.

Thanks!

Default Moly-lube and trans fluid.

I just use moly-lube on all the bearing surfaces - rods, crank, cam - but the cam lobes get either what the mfr sends or then moly-lube. Then i coat the cyl walls with trans fluid. Trans fluid will stay ther for years but burn right off.
Once the bearings are coated and installed they arn't exposed much to the atmosphere and really not a worry. Moly-lube washes right off with the engine oil circulating.

Hope this helps ya',

I have had good luck with Redline Assembly Lube. You can get it from Summit.

Total Seal AL-4, with a good rubbing of total seal QuikSeat on the cylinders. Fill with Joe Gibbs Racing Break In Oil.
