Default not your average cam question

Does anyone know if you can use a stepped-nose hyd roller (factory type) in a one-peice seal block, using retro fit lifters & a thrust button.
The reason I ask is that I have such a cam leftover from my LT1 Firebird days. Any input will be apreciated.

The stepped-nose (factory type) hyd roller cam was only used one piece seal blocks.

Yes, I understand that, but could it be used in a 2pc seal block by using a thrust button rather than the plate that is used on the factory roller blocks.

I don't see a reason that it wouldn't work. I would verify that all the critical measurements are correct and then set the end play like any roller cam with the stop.

I believe the stepped cam uses a different timing chain gear with a smaller bolt pattern. As such, you won't have room for the thrust button.
