Default Driveshaft too long or Ok?

Installed the driveshaft tonight...Noticed I had to push the front yoke all the way in and then slide the shaft in the rear from the side after removing the Ujoint caps, then put the caps on and tighten things down. THere is VERY little room....Worked Ok before, just concerned about possible binding. How would I know if it does?

If I wanted to pull the driveshaft I coudnt slide it forward an inch or two and then drop it out. Is this Ok?

How much of the front yoke should show, if any?

Once I get the body back on does this make it push in or out anymore?

I installed a T-56 into my C2 and had to deal with the drive shaft length issue. We set the yoke back about 3/8 to 1/2 inch from being fully seated in the tranny. I bellieve we got this number from the driveshaft specialist that shortened our driveshaft.

The spacing back is intended to allow movement between the tranny and the rear end. It is not as critical in our IRS cars as in solid axle cars, since our pumpkins are essentially fixed to the frame. That's the best I can remember, hope this helps and Happy New Year!

Absolute bear getting it out, dont know how I got it in
had to drop the shocks to get the rearend to lower even after it was in the air.

bummer is the yoke was damn near up on the bearing race inside. Hope nothing is damaged...Drove it like that for 100-200 miles when I first did the conversion years ago..I wanted better Ujoints anyway
