Default 1-piece vs 2-piece rear seal oil pan

Here's a strange question:
I'm currently working on compiling the parts / measurements to do a dry sump system in my '96. (don't ask why -- that's a whole different topic )

I'm looking at dry sump pans and there's very few available for a 1-piece rear seal motor. I can have one custom-made, but rather not go that route.

Is it possible (and realistic) to modify a pan made for a 2-piece rear block to work on a 1-piece rear block? Since it's a dry sump, I don't care about the dipstick being on the wrong side since it just gets blocked off anyway.

I have my original pan for reference, but don't have an older pan to compare it to.

Thanks!

Mark if your using a 5 peice rear seal crank in your 1 peice seal block they make 2 adaptors one for the late pan and one for the early pan as well.

Which crank do you have??

Oops, sorry -- forgot to specify: It's a one-piece rear seal Cola crank, so I'm using the factory 1-piece seal, not the adaptor.

Hamburger 3044 or 3074 look like the ticket. Both are 1 piece seal SBC pans.

Mark,
There's been a few threads on dry sumping a C4 in the racing section.
I have some pics of installs I can send you.
Finding a place for the pump is a real PITA, one guy mounted his way up where the PS reservoirs sits! He claims he's had no problems.

Hi Brian,

Thanks! Yea, I've been watching those threads. With my Delteq, I'm hoping the pump will fit on the passenger-side and not quite so high up. I'll probably have to relocate the PS tank, though.
Still planning out the project, measuring, collecting parts, checking options, etc. With my luck, I'll buy all of the stuff and end up completely changing my mind
