Default block for my -88 corvette

I need a new block for my -88 corvette. I would like to know which ones that will fit?? Do all blocks with a one piece rear seal up to -92 (LT1) fit ...how about the ones with 4 bolt mains (truckblocks).

If you are using a roller cam some of the truck blocks are not set up for roller cams as some of the truck engines were flat tappet cams and were not machined for the roller lifter as the lifter bores were counter bored and the holes were not drilled to hold the spider in place.

A new block the part number is 10105123

We have a 89 - 4 bolt in the shop if needed.

I will look that block over tomorrow and check on the shipping cost of the block all machined out will be 595.00 and I will have to know what you are using for head gasket and bolts or studs to plate hone the block and does that use a windage tray in the oil pan

Patric

I have 2 blocks and they are 4 bolts mains but both of them the lifter bores are counter bored and the roller lifters will not work in these blocks.

The L31 Vortec engine might be a source for a bottom end
for your '88 L98.

Read through this thread to see whether there is anything
worth pursuing ...

L31: Flat or Roller Tappets from GM?
