Default What is this rear gear and TC upgrade good for?

With all other factors being equal, does anyone care to venture a guess as to what improvements can be expected in 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile and 0-60mph times with 3.31 gears and a 2400-2600 stall TC over the stock 3.07 gears and stock 1600 stall TC? LT1 engine and exhaust is stock (for now). TIA...

I thought you weren't going to race it. Maybe I didn't realize you had 3.07s when you said you would probably go with 3.31 gears. That's less than a 10% jump. I wouldn't spend much money for such a small change.

RACE ON!!!

Redgar is pretty close with his guesstimate of .5 I'd say close to that "IF" you go to a 2600 you wont see much with anything less than 2600

Also if you haven't already bought the gears.. try going just a little steeper.. 3.45 ... I'm using 3.73 with a 2800 converter now & 60' in 1.78 - 1.82 average.. With a 3500 converter I was 60' in 1.65

A good converter is a big help.. good luck..
