The car has a full tube chassis. That is clearly not allowed
Show me the RULE in Writing .. if he buys that car just for the Pro 8.. & is told... "I dont like its looks, its too radical" duhhhh
John, it right on our web site under Pro 8.
Here is a small part since you wanted to see it in writting.
The Track and myself has the final say.
" there is any question on the legality of your car, check with John Mackey, Raceway Park or NHRA at http://www.nhra.com. There are NO exceptions to this rule. The car must be legal for the Corvette Challenge and registered for the Points championship. Non-Points cars will not be allowed to race in the Pro 8 Shootout. If you are not signed up for Points, go up to the tower and sign up the next time you are at the track. The Pro 8 Shootout will be NON-POINTS. Winner and runner-up will get trophies and a group photo of all P8 participants in the Raceway News.
How to Qualify
All Corvettes ET's during time trials will be qualifying runs for the Pro 8 Shootout. We will do our best to tell you where you stand at the end of each time trial. The "bump spot" will be posted on the boards during time trials (qualifications). Normally aspirated and power adder (supercharger/nitrous) cars are all eligible to race.
2004 Pro 8 Shootout rules

mackeyred96:
So, if I build a C3 that is back-halved, with tubs, ladder bars, 31" x 13" slicks, cage, fuel-cell, etc., but with the OEM floor-boards, frame, & suspension, from the seats forward, and with no electronics (delay box, electric/air shifter, etc.), I'm allowed to compete in the Corvette Challenge Series?

As long as it runs on pump gas, meet the NHRA safety rules for the speed you run, is less than 90 db's and comforms to the intent of the class.

YES.
Re: Gotta see this.. Vett next Pro 8 poss. (Glensgages)
I like that car..but personally, it's a little MUCH for me...I'd rather get away with a much more sleeper look, but run just as fast.
434cid SBC, CRAZY 13:1 compression, along with a 250hp Nitrous kit...basically, along the same lines as Jessie's and Corky's, but as quiet as I could get it, so I could drive it on the street and no one would know what I was packing.

According to what mackeyred96 explained to me, it must run on pump gas;
13:1 CR sounds like it'd be illegal to compete in the Corvette Challenge Series...

YES.

mackey/REDGAR:
I recently came into a 1970 LT-1, which, with 11:1 CR, can't possibly run on any of today's "pump-gas", but requires a steady diet of CAM2, or TurboBlue.
I want to put this into an '80, for competing in this series 'sometime' in the future:
can I assume that this, too, would be compatible with the Corvette Challenge rules you've stated?????
